We are not a government website

PermitPath is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state DMV, motor vehicle agency, or other government body. We never charge for information, applications, or appointments — permits are issued only by your state’s official licensing agency, and every page links you directly to it.

Display advertising

Pages on this site may include third-party display ads. Wherever ads appear, they are labeled Advertisement and are visually distinct from our content. Advertisers do not see, review, or influence our state guides, and the requirements we report are never altered to favor an advertiser. Ad networks may use cookies to personalize what you see — our privacy policy explains the data involved and your choices.

Our state-by-state requirements are compiled from official state sources and reviewed on the schedule shown in each page’s “last reviewed” band. If we recommend a product category, the recommendation reflects our judgment of what helps new drivers, and any financial relationship behind a specific link is disclosed as described above.
